NBC12 First Alert Weather App Reviews

New version is much more difficult to navigate - and thats just the start of negative aspects. Cannot find one thing better with this update vs. the earlier version.

This new version is awful. I do not see any benefit with this new layout. This appears to be a complete new version that makes it extremely difficult to navigate. Just awful.

I always appreciate updates to an app as they keep it fresh. However, the most recent update has made the app unnecessarily cumbersome. I liked that the previous version opened directly to radar. Now when the app opens you have a selection of windows you can open first. Even though radar is the first of these window options, you have to select the radar window to open it. If there is a weather alert, the app goes directly to the alert window and opens it. While that isnt a bad thing per se, if a severe storm is imminent, the radar is more important to me than the alert, especially since the alert coverage area is highlighted on the radar. The latest version gives you the option of manually indicating your exact location, meaning you can place the GPS indicator directly onto your house. According to the app this allows the app to show you the weather exactly where you are. Thats great! The only problem is that I do not remain permanently in one location. Once you select your "location" the GPS indicator will always show you in that location regardless of your actual location. The app does not seem to be intuitive in that regard. Also, when trying to watch a video, the app immediately crashes. The information on the app is beneficial, no question about that, and the recent update has improved the visual presentation. Functionally though, it needs some work.

Hate this new update. Not accurate at all and very slow if you can even get it to load. One day it said torrential rain for my area and it was sunny all day.

The new interface is slick but a nuisance to navigate, requiring more clicks and swipes. While u can set ur map to your own home, zip code location was adequate. Even w these criticisms this is still my favorite weather app for the info it provides, however.

The update forces you to view a full screen ad for several seconds before taking you to the weather page.

Bad format. Previous Verizon better.

Unfortunately, Channel 6 switched to the same format. Not using either now.

Changes to the look of the weekly forecast are just terrible. Difficult to read and ugly. Bring back the forecast that listed the days of the week from left to right (as seen on TV) instead of top to bottom. Bring back earlier a graphics, too!

I hate the opening ad. I just want to open the app. I would NEVER use that company!

I hated the update enough to uninstall the APP.

This is the worst app ever! Please find some other way to pay for your app and take the long, annoying first page BNW ad away. If i am looking at an app for the weather I want something quick and fast, not slow and cumbersome, with an ad. You are trying to do too much!

This app requires too many steps to watch live video

This use to be my favorite weather app until the update. Now I can only use it when on wifi...will not work on cell service. So basically I will have to use another local weather app until this problem is fixed.

I love how it tells you the moon phase for the night, great app

This used to be arguably simply the best visual predictive ap out there. Ive used it all over the globe and found it wonderfully accurate, especially its predictive "future" motion function. This moving map allowed you to see accurately what the predicted path of storms would be over the next 4-6 hours. Thats what a "Warning" ap should be about. This function seems to have been removed - at least on my iPhone 6. Without it, the ap is not nearly as helpful What gives?!?

I downloaded this app to get my local weather. When I got to the settings set up, it accurately showed my home city in current conditions. But in the Alert setting, it showed a city in Virginia half way across the country from my location. There was no way to change this. Such a disappointment. Will definitely delete this. Waste of privacy revealing. *sigh*

Was my favorite weather app but since the update the 10 day forecast doesnt show all the content under each day when you click on it. It now only shows a portion of the weather for that day and night. Please fix it.

Good app....then one ad before you could see forecast, now two. Please give me an ad free paid version. Deleting app until this is resolved.
